Healthwatch Cheshire West

Healthwatch Cheshire West is the local independent consumer champion for Health and Social Care services in Cheshire West and Chester.

You may have seen one of our team or volunteers out and about around Cheshire gaining people’s views and experiences of the Health and Social Care services they receive, in order to help inform the priorities and quality of services commissioned by the NHS and local authorities.

Healthwatch Cheshire West gathers comments from local people and looks at information about how well local services are performing. We then produce reports which we share with the people who have the power to make changes to services.

We also have the power to Enter and View services which involves visiting certain types of Health and Social Care premises to observe the nature and quality of services, and to comment on what is being done well and what could be done better. These services include care homes, GP Practices, dentists, hospital trusts, etc. and allow us to see, hear and feel what it is like within that particular setting for the people who use services, their families and staff.
