We would like you to help shape the services provided to children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
The Council is running a consultation from 20th June until 12th September 2019 on services for children and young people with SEND needs, to help inform the future development of the service and we would like to hear your views.
In February 2018, Cheshire West and Chester Council commissioned a review of its high needs provision. This involved identifying the key issues and challenges facing the local area’s SEND system and highlighting areas for development.
Following on from this review, a co-production process was carried out with young people, parents, schools, providers and officers to identify solutions and actions in response to the areas of development identified from the review.
The outcome of the co-production phase is 10 options for the development of the service that are currently under consideration.
We would really value your views on the proposed options under consideration to help shape the services provided to children, young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

The results from the consultation will be made available on the Council’s Website in December 2019. Any future provision agreed will be implemented from September 2020 allowing us time to ensure any changes are well managed.
