Healthwatch Cheshire West is your local statutory watchdog.
Our role is to ensure that local health and social care services, and local decision makers, put the experiences of people at the heart of their care.

Healthwatch Cheshire West:

  •       Gathers comments about local health and social care services
  •       Provides quality information and advice for local people
  •       Helps people to get their complaints about the NHS heard
  •       Monitors local health and social care services
  •       Challenges service providers and makes recommendations
  •       Reports any issues or concerns to those who provide the services
  •       Reports findings to regulators such as the Care Quality Commission.

Our community engagement team attend many events and operate ‘pop up’ shops across the borough to talk to local people to gather their views.  These comments, which inform us what is working and what is not, help to formulate our work plan.  Major issues are researched and escalated to service commissioners.  We need your feedback and opinions to carry out our activities and achieve our aims.  Share your views at

We provide an information and signposting service to assist residents of West Cheshire to find local services and to advise them on how to raise a concern or make a complaint about NHS services.

Healthwatch Cheshire West has the power to Enter & View some types of health and social care facilities and report on the nature, quality and experience of care provided.  We work in partnership with local commissioners, providers and regulators of health and care to improve care and report any safeguarding issues.  Visits are planned based on the community views we collect, concerns received from members of the public, local intelligence and multi-agency safeguarding and risk data.  All of our reports can be seen at
