Equipment and Aids for Daily Living

Specialist equipment, adaptations and assistive technology can not only improve someone’s quality of life, but it can also give them greater independence and provide piece of mind to family members or carer.

Click on the category headings on the right to find out more about services available within the local area and how you access them.

Information and guidance factsheets are also available, which includes advice on adaptations and home improvements, independent living centres and much more.

A product catalogue will soon be available allowing you the freedom to order various products to meet your daily living needs, all from one place.

However, Cheshire West and Chester council strongly advises any users to ensure they have been assessed by a qualified practitioner prior to ordering specialist equipment. Click here to find out how to request an assessment.

Services may be provided by individuals, voluntary organisations, private companies, the NHS or Cheshire West and Chester Council. While some are free, others have to be paid for, so it is always worth checking to make sure you are getting all the benefits you are entitled to. If you would like some help with this, go to the 'Money Matters' section by clicking here.
